SASKATCHEWAN INLINE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION

MISSION STATEMENT

     The SIHA was created to act the the Provincial Sports Governing Body for Inline Hockey in Saskatchewan.  We will strive through leadership and development of Inline Hockey, to offer players both male and female, of all ages and skill levels, the opportunity to play at the Community, Provincial, National, and International levels.

Mission Statement

1.To promote a positive Inline Hockey experience for all players, coaches, officials, administrators, volunteers and parents by
organizing, supporting, coordinating and developing inline hockey programs and events for all age and skill levels.

2.To protect and serve the mutual interest of all players, coaches, officials, administrators, volunteers and parents.

3.To enhance the positive value of our inline hockey programs by providing leadership and initiatives to develop better citizens, to encourage and direct the fostering of a strong sense of community pride and participation for all communities large and small.

4.To develop coaches, officials, administrators, and volunteers to carry out the expressed goals of our organization.

5.To work with other Canada Inline Member Leagues and Associations to promote the cooperative development of inline hockey programs and their effective administration.

6.To work with International Federations to promote the sport of inline hockey globally.

7.To partner with other organizations that will help promote, develop and foster a positive experience for players, coaches,
officials and administrators.

8.To develop and prepare High Performance Teams, athletes, coaches and officials for International competition.

Blueprint for Success

Saskatchewan Inline accepts the responsibility to assume a leadership role to develop the sport of inline hockey for
all participants, coaches, officials administrators and corporate partners in the province of Saskatchewan.

Along with supporting the elite tournaments and championships, Saskatchewan Inline will build the sport of inline hockey
in Saskatchewan through the community based teams and leagues .


Saskatchewan Inline / Canada Inline Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct identifies the standard of behavior which is expected of all Canada Inline members and participants, which for the purpose of this policy shall include all players, guardians, parents, coaches, officials, volunteers, directors, officers, committee members, conveners, team managers, trainers and administrators involved in Canada Inline activities and events.

Canada Inline is committed to providing an environment in which all individuals are treated with respect. Members and participants of Canada Inline shall conduct themselves at all times in a manner consistent with the values of Canada Inline which includes fairness, integrity and mutual respect.

During the course of all Canada Inline activities and events, members shall avoid behavior which brings Canada Inline or the
sport of inline hockey into disrepute, including but not limited to abusive use of alcohol, use of non-medical drugs and use of
alcohol by minors.

Canada Inline members and participants shall at all times adhere to Canada Inline's operational policies and procedures, to rules and regulations governing Canada Inline events and activities, and to rules and regulations governing any competition in which the member participates on behalf of Canada Inline.

Members and participants of Canada Inline shall not engage in any activity or behavior which interferes with competition or with any player or team's preparation for competition, or which endangers the safety of others.

Members of Canada Inline shall refrain from comments or behaviors, which are disrespectful, offensive, abusive, racist or
sexist. In particular, behavior, which constitutes harassment or abuse, will not be tolerated, and will be dealt with under Canada Inline's Harassment policy.

Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the Discipline Policy of
Canada Inline. Such action may result in the member losing the privileges, which come with membership in Canada Inline,
including the opportunity to participate in Canada Inline activities and events, both present and future.

Formation & Evolution of the Saskatchewan Inline Hockey Association

· Registered as a Non-Profit Corporation with the Government of Saskatchewan in April of 2003;

· Organized properly to prevent League Administrators from personal benefit as opposed to sport benefit.

· The purpose of the development of Saskatchewan Inline is to continue the development of inline hockey leagues, programs,
events and promotion through community leagues in Saskatchewan;

· The mandate of Saskatchewan Inline is to organize Provincial standard development programs, events, teams, and to provide administrative services to the inline hockey community across Saskatchewan;

· To participate under the National Insurance Plan for all member players and leagues of Saskatchewan;

· Through Canada Inline, we will continue to be a clearing house for information for the inline hockey stakeholders with regards to standardization of playing rules, age divisions, equipment standards, events, development programs for athletes, officials, administrators and trainers;

· As a member of Canada Inline (members of the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) as the recognized organization by the
International Governing Body of Inline Hockey (FIRS) Federation of International Roller Sports (accepted Oct/01));

· Through Canada Inline, which was accepted in fall of 2001 as a full member with FIRS, which has provided access for Canada Inline National Teams to World Championships, Pan Am Games and World Games (2005).
